The wild orchid of the Turks and Caicos islands is one of the most rare extracts you can find on our planet. We have our own indigenous breed that is only found in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The flower is a protected plant, therefore we are very particular about how we harvest the flowers for our extract.
Orchid extract is used in the cosmetic industry for its moisturizing and anti-aging properties. The presence of mucilage in orchids enables them to maintain skin hydration. Mucilage functions as a moisturizer and emollient due to its high water binding capacity. Keeping moisture for the skin rather than taking it out. Rich in anti-oxidants and potent as an active ingredient we use it in this micellar water. This micellar water includes cotton extract because it is high in fatty acids and vitamin e. It is used in cosmetics to aid in soothing irritated skin and to calm redness. Although they are gentle they are effective at replenishing the outer layer of our skin. This is a stunning alternative to harsh soaps or synthetic ingredients. This micellar water is the perfect anecdote to after sun care of the face being rich in vitamins & antioxidants as well as aloe. Relish in the calming aroma of lavender & frangipani as it works hard to nurture your skin.
The wild orchid we collected for this product came from our private botanical garden in Long Bay and our dear friend Alex Skye. This is a protected flower and we only used mature petals that were due to drop. No orchid plants or stems were harmed but rather stimulated to maximize their growth by gentle pruning.
